On the commemoration of her attempted assassination, May Chidiac speaks out
On September 25, 2005, media figure May Chidiac survived an assassination attempt. 7 years passed by but this bitter memory did not thwart her determination to continue fighting for the principles that almost cost her her life.

On the commemoration of her attempted assassination, May Chidiac told LBCI that despite all these years, she is still on the assassination list. However, she stressed that this method did not and will not prevent her from speaking her mind, adding that she will try to look for a better future devoid of tears and sadness.

“When I try to forget, I find that the situation has not changed; those who tried to assassinate me are still trying to assassinate others and violence is still prevailing.”

Chidiac revealed that she is working on her new book entitled “The sky is waiting for me” (As Sama’ Tantazirouni), adding that while her first book tackled a long period of 25 years until the end of 2006, the second will discuss the period after 2006 and will include a mix of her personal experience and the latest developments sweeping through the Arab world.
