Akar: Army ready to defend Lebanon, and its security and stability

Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Zeina Akar said on Sunday that the Lebanese government was not absent during and after the latest incidents in south Lebanon and condemned the Israeli attacks.

“These attacks are a threat to stability in south Lebanon, mainly as the Security Council will be soon discussing the renewal of the UNIFIL’s mission,” Akar said during an interview with al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper.

She also added that Foreign Minister Nassif Hitti sent a letter to the UN in this regard.

This as the minister voiced readiness of the Lebanese army "to defend Lebanon, its security and stability."
