Approval of law amendments of $150 million World Bank loan

The Budget and Finance Parliamentary Committee approved on Wednesday the amendments to the law related to the $150 million World Bank loan aimed at buying wheat, with the postponement of the approval of two articles until Thursday’s session.

For his part, Head of Budget and Finance Committee MP Ibrahim Kanaan confirmed that the committee may not raise taxes and that it has nothing to do with the customs dollar, which is decided between the government and the Central Bank, which the President has rejected because it was unfair to raise it from 1,500 to 26,000.
