REPORT: Elderly woman beaten, burnt by her Ethiopian maid

Samia Kh. born in 1938 was beaten and burnt at her home in the Mastita region, Jbeil by her Ethiopian maid Dicknanish.B born in 1989 who was later seized and arrested by the Internal Security Forces, the state-run National News Agency reported on Thursday.

The report said that the maid hit Samia on the head using a bronze statue rendering Samia unconscious.

Dicknanish then threw hot water on the woman's face and chest leading to first degree burns as mentioned by the doctor on site.

Samia was transferred to Notre Dame De Secours Hospital in Jbeil and is currently receiving treatment.
