Austin says THAAD missile defense system ‘in place’ in Israel

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the U.S. military rushed to deploy its advanced missile defense system in Israel, adding that it is "in place now."

Austin declined to say whether the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system is ready for operation, but he stated, "We have the ability to operate it very quickly, and we are following the approach we aspire to."
