[PHOTOS] Amazing Moment A Tigress Protects Life Of Baby Deer

In a series of heartwarming pictures by photographer Souvik Kundu, a tiger is seen sparing a lone baby deer's life and, instead of making it an easy snack, decided to play with it and treat it like one of its own.

The incident took place at the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in India, after crowds gasped as they predicted the spotted deer be eaten by the giant feline.

Instead, the two appeared to have become best friends, with the gentle tigress playing with the baby deer, before leaving it unharmed.

The adorable encounter lasted for about 15 minutes.

The photographer, Souvik, 35, from Mumbai titled the photographs of the event, The Benevolent Queen, due to the tiger's gentle nature.

The Tadoba Andhari Reserve is the largest national park in Maharashtra, covering a total area of 241 square miles.

This isn't the first odd documentation of this kind. In several previous accounts, predators were seen protecting young pray such as the case of the lion who saved the baby calf from the attack of another member of its pride. Take a look at the video below.
