REPORT: Israel discusses reunification of Syrian families in Golan Heights

Israel turned the aspect of its involvement in the Syrian file from a military and security one to humanitarian and announced the keenness of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to help Syrian families reunite in the occupied Golan Heights.

In this context, a number of Syrians living in the Golan took a first of its kind step by calling on Netanyahu’s government to approve the reunification of tens of Syrian families, under the pretext of the deterioration of the situation in Syria which poses a threat on their lives.

This report will highlight the situation of the scattered families of the Golan Heights, and the position of the Israeli authorities regarding the families’ call for help in their reunification.
