REPORT: Association of Muslim Scholars demands official authorization from Lebanese cabinet
Sheikh Salem al-Rafei, the head of the Muslim Scholars Association, said the initiative that had recently been launched by the committee aims to resume negotiations over the file of kidnapped Lebanese soldiers.

In this regard, Sheikh Rafei stated that the Association of Muslim Scholars needs the official authorization of the Lebanese government to tackle the dossier of abducted soldier, adding that the cabinet should also agree on a swap deal.

Following a meeting with Grand Mufti Abdel Latif Deryan, Sheikh Rafei noted that there are no charges against women arrested by Lebanese authorities, reiterating his rejection to the arrest of these women on the backdrop of arrest warrants issued against their spouses.
