The latest on Berri's call for dialogue
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri is sticking to his position regarding Thursday's session. However, he will hold off on making any decisions until he learns what the other blocs, particularly the two largest Christian blocs, the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces, will decide.

The Strong Lebanon bloc will decide in the bloc's meeting on Tuesday. At the same time, according to LBCI information, the FPM will participate in the session on Thursday, as most of the blocs confirmed their participation in any dialogue.

As for the position of the LF, MP Melhem Riachi told LBC that the Strong Republic bloc will hold a meeting to discuss this issue. Riachi also reiterated LF's position regarding the dialogue, which it believes ought to take place within the parliament, and has outlined an appropriate course for the republic and the presidential election.

As for the Kataeb, they do not reject any dialogue in principle. They will discuss their participation in a political bureau meeting on Monday and consult with the opposition parties.

In any case, sources following up on the issue explain that Thursday's session will be a dialogue meeting with the heads of the blocs if the Strong Lebanon and Strong Republic blocs' positions on the call are positive. Still, if they are negative, it will be the final presidential election session of the year.

The same sources also stated that holding the dialogue session requires consent from one of the two Christian blocs to participate.

Most blocs have informed the Speaker that they welcome his call, provided each bloc is represented by its president or another delegate in principle.

Thus, will Berri's call for dialogue be heeded?
