Member of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps assassinated in Tehran
A member of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was shot dead in eastern Tehran on Sunday, the official IRNA news agency reported.
      
The agency added that "Sayyad Khodaei, one of the defenders of the Holy Shrine, was assassinated after two people on a motorcycle shot him dead on the Mujahideen Islam Street in Tehran."

The Iranian state media uses the expression "protectors of the sanctuary" to refer to members of the Revolutionary Guards who have carried out missions in Syria and Iraq.
