Czech left leader back in talks to form government

Czech Social Democrat leader Bohuslav Sobotka said on Thursday the party's top leadership returned a mandate to him to lead talks with other political parties to form a government, following attempts last weekend to force him to quit.
    
Sobotka said full talks with two centrist parties would be launched after a Nov. 10 meeting of the Social Democrats' central executive committee, which could end the rift between Sobotka and a rival faction within the party.
