Israel suspends transfer of tax payments to Palestinian Authority

In response to UN recognition of Palestinian state, the Israeli cabinet announced on Sunday that it would not transfer the tax payments collected on behalf of the Palestinian Authority this month.

Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz stated that 460 Million Shekel (around € 92 Million) of Palestinian taxes will be frozen.

This move followed a plan by Israel to expand 3000 settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
