Russian army announces 'enhancement of positions' on frontline in Northeast Ukraine

On Thursday, the Russian army declared that it has managed to "enhance its positions" in the northeastern part of Ukraine, where it has been conducting an offensive for weeks after being driven out of the area by Ukrainian forces a year ago. 

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in its daily report that "in the direction of Kupiansk, assault units of the +Western+ combat units managed, through offensive operations, to improve their positions on the front line."
