At a time when Lebanon struggles to come to terms with the garbage management crisis it is currently facing, it may be good to remind people (voters) that this crisis is nothing new to the country.
In the video above, which dates back to 1991, we see the struggle -which was never really resolved - only temporary hidden from our direct vision.
Now that it has resurfaced right before our very eyes, it may be time to realize that quick fixes are never really the right solution. Also, that this problem is decades old as opposed to what is being depicted as one that arose in the wake of the closure of the Naameh landfill on July 17.
Lebanon, its time to wake up and smell the burning trash.
Support environmental campaigners in exposing all offenders who continue to pollute and violate the environment, because if we don't stand up now, we may just look into our future depicted in this video - albeit not as fortunate.
