Siniora: government raised food and drug scandals without addressing them
Former PM Fouad Siniora criticized Sunday the government’s performance in tackling the people’s social and economic concerns, mostly those related to electricity, telecommunication, food security as well as rotten foodstuffs and medications.

“It only raised scandals around this issue without tackling it in an institutional manner; these were partly aimed at covering up other scandals,” he said.

During a press symposium he held after hosting in his Sidon office a number of figures and delegations from Sidon and the neighborhood, Siniora stressed that the Future Bloc did not accuse Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir of extremism.

“The Future Bloc calls for openness and moderation in action and in word”, he said.
