Families of Lebanese soldiers kidnapped by the Islamic State staged a sit-in Friday before “Casino du Liban” in the Maameltein area, where a number of citizens and Casino employees joined them to express solidarity with them.
Protesters demanded giving full authority to the General Security Chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim in a bid to follow up on their case.
They also called upon the concerned committee to convene in their presence.
“We refuse our sons' case to be forgotten or be prone to personal interests," they stated.
On another note, the families pointed out that this step is just a warning, and they are planning to escalate if the government continues to neglect their issue.
