As long as the war in Syria is ongoing, the statements about the return of Syrian refugees and the reconstruction of their nation remain nothing but wishes and dreams.
During the “Syria Aid Forum for Emergency and Reconstruction,” Lebanon reiterated the warning against the repercussions of the displacement amid an economic situation where growth declined reaching below zero rates, according to Minister Rashid Derbass.
In this context, the minister stressed the need to reach a political solution for the crisis and increase the assistance to Lebanon.
The United Nations reaffirmed that the return of the refugees will not be possible without a political solution, which seems to be nowhere near, stressing however, the need to prevent the Lebanese people from paying the price with their economy and politics.
