REPORT: Alawite Grand Mufti Sheikh Assad Assi passes away

Alawite Grand Mufti and Head of the Alawite Islamic Council Sheikh Assad Assi passed away on Saturday from a heart attack.

Sheikh Assi was born in the northern city of Tripoli in 1946 and will laid rest on Sunday in Tripoli’s Jabal Mohsen neighborhood.
