President Aoun: US sanctions on Hezbollah would harm all Lebanon
President Michel Aoun said on Monday that the new draft law that is under preparation by the United States to sanction Hezbollah and its affiliates would "harm Lebanon and its people."
Aoun’s comments were made during a meeting with a delegation from the American Task Force for Lebanon.
"These sanctions would not complement the current Lebanese-US relations," Aoun added.
He also noted that Lebanon is carrying out the necessary contacts to avert the issuance of such sanctions.
The US Congress is planning to impose additional, tougher sanctions on Hezbollah, its affiliates and allies.
