REPORT: Families of abducted soldiers: Our sons never defected from the military institution

The families of the abducted soldiers by the Islamic State cut off the road and blocked the passage of vehicles in the banks’ street, calling for revealing the whereabouts of their sons three years after the abduction.

The families said that one of the mediators informed them he requires an official authorization from the Lebanese government to negotiate with the kidnappers, but the cabinet had failed to respond so far.

The families’ spokesman Hussein Youssef said that “they are not weak,” warning the authorities against pushing them to the point of blocking Daher al-Baydar road and other main highways.

Youssef stressed that the soldiers never defected from the military institution.
