With their regular water supplies cut off, residents in rebel-held towns north of Aleppo city are having to rely on tankers sent in over the border as wells risk drying up.
Azaz would normally depend on water from the nearby Maydanki lake, but Kurdish militants have prevented access.
Further east, al-Bab's use of the Euphrates river has been cut off by the Syrian government, an official said.
