Israel admits of sinking Lebanese boat in 1982
Israel officially admitted on Thursday to sinking a boat carrying Lebanese migrants off the coast of the northern city of Tripoli, killing 25 people.

The sinking took place in June 1982 while Israel was imposing a naval blockade on Lebanon, according to Israeli Channel 10 news.

The Israeli submarine captain, identified as Major A. has admitted to sinking the boat after he believed that it is carrying Palestinian fighters fleeing the Israeli army.

He then ordered two torpedoes to be fired at the boat, sinking it.
