MP Taymour Jumblatt signed Saturday a draft law pertaining to amending the law 2932014 on the protection of women and family members from domestic violence, through the criminalization of some acts that were not considered crimes in the previous law.
The draft law was presented to Jumblatt by “KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation” association, which drafted it in cooperation with the Justice Ministry and the National Committee for Women’s Affairs, and was referred from the cabinet to the parliament to be passed.
The association asked Jumblatt and the “Democratic Gathering” bloc to provide support for the draft law that will be announced Monday in a press conference.
