The media bureau of Health Minister Jamil Jabak declared that there is no connection between the death of Melania, the child who died at a Jbeil hospital and the death of 5-year-old Marvin H.
The bureau said in a statement that the death of Marvin H. appeared to be caused by a bacteria called Group A streptococcus that infected his respiratory system, causing the lungs to stop functioning followed by the heart.
The statement denied all reports that had been issues, stressing that “there is no H1N1 virus or Meningitis.”
“All forensic medical examination procedures were halted after the parents rejected request for an autopsy,” the statement said, adding that the ministry’s departments are pursuing this issue with the concerned authorities in order to ensure objectivity and transparency.
