Prime Minister Saad Hariri welcomed Monday the Vice President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jürgen Rigterink, heading a delegation from the bank.
Following the meeting, Rigterink said that the discussions with Hariri were “good and constructive.”
“As you know, we have invested 240 million euros in seven projects last year and it was our first year of operation. We hope to keep this pace over the upcoming years, so we offered our full support to the prime minister to continue working on the reform agenda, mainly concerning matters related to finance and energy,” he stated.
Hariri also received at the Grand serial, President of the Union of Arab Banks Joseph Tarabay, who said that they extended an invitation to the PM to attend the inauguration of the union’s conference this year.
Tarabay also hoped that Lebanon will kick off the economic reform plan in the upcoming weeks in order to reduce the budget deficit and improve the situation of electricity and other matters.
