President Michel Aoun received Friday Vice President of the Brazilian Federal Republic, Antonio Martinez Mourao at Baabda presidential palace.
During the meeting, President Aoun informed Mourao that Lebanon looks forward to strengthening Lebanese-Brazilian relations in all fields, describing the bilateral ties as excellent.
"What brings us together is the human bond, which remains deeper and stronger than any other bond, especially with about 8 million Brazilians being of Lebanese origin," Aoun said, thanking Brazil for its participation in the UNIFIL naval force and its assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces, especially in the field of training.
He pointed out that "Lebanon has signed the memorandum of understanding to join a free trade area with the Mercosur countries so as to enhance cooperation with those countries."
