Gemayel to LBCI: Syria wants to “blow up” situation in Lebanon

MP Nadim Gemayel said on Friday that the arrest of Former Minister Michel Samaha has “shocked” the Lebanese people.

“In the event that all accusations directed against [Samaha] are proven true, it means that Syria is seeking to blow up the situation in Lebanon”, he confirmed to Nharkom Said TV Show.

Gemayel criticized the Information Division’s leakage of information related to the case, saying “this reduces the credibility of investigations”.

Gemayel added that Hezbollah’s reaction to Samaha’s detention is “weak”, stressing the importance of awaiting the investigations’ results.

Commenting on the electoral law, Gemayel described proportional representation as “the law of Hezbollah’s occupation of parliament in 2013”.

Gemayel added that the district division provided for by the said law is unacceptable.
