Tripoli witnesses quiet night amid hopes of clashes coming to an end

The streets of Tripoli are witnessing normal traffic after institutions, shops and markets reopened their doors.                  

The city, long overdue for a “normal” night, reported quiet following the LAF’s measures exemplified by mechanized patrols, checkpoints, as well as car and ID inspections in various districts, yards, and entrances of the city.              

According to the national news agency, LAF forces performed raids and trailed assailants. They also worked on disarming the city.                 

In the same context, the media official of the Arab Democratic Party, Abdel Latif Saleh, declared that Lebanon is on the verge of disaster and wished from the city’s dignitaries to be aware and cognitive.               

In a talk with LBCI, Saleh assured that the Alawite sect is a Lebanese sect adding that “no one can eliminate the other”.           

He also hoped that the citizen that was killed yesterday at Jabal Mohsen would be the last of Tripoli’s casualties.          

Saleh added, “We are with Syria and the Syrian regime because it’s the only country that protected Lebanon and supported the resistance.”            

Meanwhile, the member of Tripoli’s municipality Khaled Sobeh said to LBCI that “people of the city are under the mercy of regional wars, chaos and poverty”.            
He added, “If some want to fight for Syria let them go to Syria; we are the silent majority and we want stability and security”.
