No coronavirus among Lebanese nationals in China-Health Ministry
The media office of Minister of Health Hamad Hassan said on Friday that the ministry contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to check on the Lebanese nationals in China’s Wuhan province and to follow up on the procedures taken by them to avoid the coronavirus.

The Health Ministry also said that the Foreign Affairs Ministry contacted Lebanese ambassador to China Milia Jabbour who confirmed that there are no coronavirus cases among the Lebanese nationals in Wuhan province.

The ambassador also said that “only few Lebanese nationals are there,” adding that contact is ongoing with them on a daily basis.

The ministry added that coordination is being carried out to evacuate the Lebanese nationals from China if they wish to leave.

A coronavirus outbreak that began in Wuhan, the capital of China's central province of Hubei, has spread to more than 9,800 people globally, surpassing the total from the 2002-2003 SARS epidemic. The new virus has killed 213 people.

There are 131 confirmed cases in 23 countries and regions outside mainland China, including Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and the United States.
