Salameh: We rely on our reputation to drag foreign investments
Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh said that the Lebanese economy is strong enough to drag foreign investments into the country amid the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and the region especially Syria.

Salameh in an interview with CNN said that foreign investors are confident that the Lebanon financial sector is a safe place for their money as the deposits and the surplus liquidity in Lebanese banks are enough to finance both public and private sectors.

“I expect that by the end of 2012 Lebanese banks will achieve a 6% growth”, Salameh was quoted as saying.

Asked about the rumors that the economic growth will not meet Central bank’s expectations he said, “We only rely on a calm political scene and the reputation of our banks in the world”
