MP Abdel Rahim Mrad declared Sunday that “the parties must find a way to cooperate more with Syria to allow for the refugees’ return,” saying that he does not think that the Syrian government refuses the return of its citizens.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Mrad stated that he does not support measures targeting the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, since the latter seeks to held and encourage for the safe return.
He also noted that the economic situation is on the verge of detonation, adding that the Ministry of Planning can propose projects and help in this regard.
Commenting on the cabinet formation, MP Mrad hoped that the crisis between the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement will be resolved soon, calling for the formation of a governmental that reflects fairness and represents all the factions.
For his part, MP Mouin Merhebi told LBCI that he supports the voluntary return of the refugees, adding that the best thing that Hezbollah could do is to withdraw from Syria, “because it has been burdening Lebanon with certain responsibilities.”
