Former Minister Ashraf Rifi called for releasing to the public the records of questioning conducted with Imad Jomaa. “Who is Imad Jomaa and does he deserve to be kept obstructing a deal to bring back 23 Lebanese soldiers? Of course not, the state released detainees to complete a deal with al-Nusra,” he stated.
During a press conference held on Tuesday, Rifi said that he is not surprised toward the campaigns launched against former PM Tamam Salam and former LAF chief Jean Kahwaji, noting that they prevented strife and protected Arsal.
He added that their actions would have led to the release of the abducted soldiers, if it were not for the practices of Hezbollah.
The former minister also pointed out that fire was opened at Muslim scholars to prevent the success of the negotiations, revealing that the goal was to allow the Islamic State terrorists to access Arsal and to lead to a confrontation between them and the army.
