Cardinal Rai calls for new cabinet, electoral law

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai stressed on Monday, during the opening session of the Council of Catholic Bishops and Patriarchs in Lebanon, that the national duty requires tireless efforts to find a settlement for the political crisis, highlighting the need for a new cabinet formation and a new electoral law adoption as well as parliamentary elections the soonest possible.

“Lebanon is in need of ‘the light of the Christ’ in order to end the sectarian and political conflict which disrupts the state’s institutions,” Cardinal Rai said.
