Geagea:South Lebanon’s fate is in the hands of Hezbollah

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea said that Hezbollah has the only effective military presence in the South, adding that the Internal Security Forces are preventing the UNIFIL from achieving their goals.

Geagea accused Hezbollah in a press conference of being responsible in one way or another for the attacks on UNIFIL, adding that South Lebanon’s fate is in the hands of Hezbollah. He said “No one can say that the terrorist groups conducting such operations do not cooperate with Hezbollah”.

“Those terrorist cells are being fabricated by Syria and Hezbollah for their personal use”.

Geagea observed that the only solution to the current security situation is getting rid of extrastatal armed groups, adding that the solution will be implemented by the People, State, and Army equation.

Regarding the kidnapping of Liban Lait CEO Ahmad Zeidan Geagea asked “Do we know who kidnapped Zeidan? How should we trust the State after such behaviors?”
