Caretaker Minister Qortbawi urges cabinet to convene to tackle outstanding issues

Caretaker Minister of Justice Chakib Qortbawi urged on Friday the caretaker cabinet to convene and address pending issues regarding the citizens’ living conditions.

“Those who reject the presence of Lebanese Armed Forces in Tripoli do not want security,” Qortbawi said, stressing that the army should control the northern city and pursue those who breach security and bring them to justice”.

He also slammed the lack of coordination between the security apparatuses in implementing the security plan in Tripoli.

Separately, Qortbawi called on the Central Inspection Bureau to take actions immediately and to launch a "serious" investigation into the road flooding issue in order to look into the maintenance of infrastructure and hold the concerned authorities accountable.
