Future bloc says abduction of Maaloula nuns benefits Syrian regime

      
"Lebanon needs, throughout this transitional phase, a new government that manages the citizens' affairs and deals with the Syrian refugee issue," the Future bloc said on Tuesday.        

Following its weekly meeting, the bloc denounced the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Hawlo Al-Laqis as a "dangerous crime," calling for expediting investigations in order to reveal the circumstances behind the incident.             

The Future bloc also condemned the abduction of the 12 Orthodox nuns in Syria's Maaloula, noting that "this crime is for the benefit of the Syrian regime".            

Earlier, the bloc visited Metropolitan bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church for the Archdiocese of Beirut, Elias Aoude with talks featuring high on the local and regional situations, mainly the Syrian crisis and attacks targeting churches.               

The Future bloc called on the concerned authorities to put pressure on the kidnappers of "innocent people" in order to release them immediately since "it does not serve the cause of Syria".                       
Separately, the bloc called on President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam to form a new government, the soonest possible, in a bid to deal with the Lebanese situation.
