ISF unit arrests husband of victim Christelle Abu Shaqra

An Internal Security Forces unit in Sin el-Fil arrested on Tuesday the husband of Christelle Abu Shaqra, and was referred to the concerned authorities to launch investigations in this regard.

Lebanese citizen identified as Christelle Abu Shaqra died from Dimol poisoning amid unclear circumstances. Her family accused the husband, who in turn refused to comment on the case.

Roy Hayek reportedly poisoned 30-year-old Christelle with a toxic substance normally used as a pesticide, a representative of KAFA organization reported.

Abu Shaqra’s relatives said the couple, who lived in the Beirut suburb of Ain al-Remmaneh, had been separated for two months, adding that she had moved into her family’s residence a few weeks ago.

The family of Abu Shaqra also claimed that Hayek had a long history of abusing his wife.
