Ministry of Public Health calls on citizens to take precautionary measures against H1N1
The Ministry of Public Health issued a statement on Friday whereby it called on Lebanese citizens to take precautionary measures and not to panic after reports that a number of people were diagnosed with the (H1N1)A virus.

The virus is treated by well-known preventive measures such as fever reducers, drinking liquids and resting, the statement said.

It also said that most people diagnosed with H1N1 recover without taking medicines, adding however that some cases could lead to complications.

"Such cases include children under five, the elderly, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases," the Ministry said, noting that people should see a doctor if high fever lasts more than five days, if they feel short of breath or in case of other complications.

The Ministry noted that the virus could be transmitted by coughing and sneezing, adding that the infected should stay at home until they recover.
