Sayyed after meeting Assad: Presidential elections are Syrian affairs
Lebanon's Former Security Chief Jamil al-Sayyed held talks on Sunday with Syrian President Bashar Assad, and discussed with him the general situation in Syria as well as the latest developments.

They also tackled the regime's offensive near Lebanon, saying the operation would allow the Lebanese Army to better control the border.

Following the meeting, Sayyed stated that the latest developments in Syria aim at addressing terrorism and takfiri terrorist groups and encouraging speedy national reconciliation in various towns and villages.

On another note, Sayyed mentioned that the constitutional deadlines, particularly the presidential elections, are Syrian affairs that cannot be disrupted by ongoing events.
