Cabinet convenes at Grand Serail, approves reduction of phone calls costs

The cabinet approved on Friday the reduction of the cost of mobile and landline telephones calls.

In its session held at the Grand Serail, the cabinet started approving a number of administrative appointments, including the appointment of a manager for the Beirut governmental hospital.

The Lebanese Cabinet is currently convening a session at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam with 61 items on its agenda.

Ministers during the session are expected to finalize the administrative appointments issue as well as the influx of Syrian refugees and other prominent local issues.

At the onset of the session, PM Salam expressed his hope that Lebanese factions elect a president before President Michel Sleiman's end of term.

Sources reported to LBCI that the cabinet is drafting a policy related to the Syrian refugees, as well as the influx of Syrians and the issue of building refugee camps in Lebanon.

Prior to the session, Economy and Trade Minister Alain Hakim stated that the dossier of the Syrian refugees is the first item on the session's agenda.
