Abdullah Azzam Brigades say Twitter account of Free Sunnis of Baalbek's Brigade is run by Hezbollah affiliates
Sheikh Sirajeddine Zreikat of the Abdulllah Azzam Brigades said on Friday that the Free Sunnis of Baalbek Brigade's Twitter account is a “fake” one, adding that sides affiliated with Hezbollah run the said account.

However, the Brigade replied to Sheikh Zreikat's claims soon after.

“You describe us as an intelligence group just because we announced war on Lebanon's Christians,” the group tweeted later on.

“You are the ones working for the interests of foreign countries,” it added.

Free Sunnis of Baalbek Brigade then said “it is ready to fight any group in Lebanon that harms its principles.”

Earlier this week, the Brigade had vowed to attack churches in Lebanon, mainly in the eastern Bekaa valley.

Following these alarming declarations, Lebanese authorities contacted Twitter's administrators to transfer these threats to them and try to identify who is behind the account.

Also, the Internal Security Forces' cyber crimes bureau announced on Friday that the Twitter account of the vague Brigade is under prosecution.

The ISF also revealed that the account was first created on a Blackberry device on July 22, 2013 in London, and was later operated in several Arab countries.

The Brigade has previously claimed responsibility for several bomb attacks across Lebanon, the last of which were the suicide blasts in Dahr al-Baydar and Raouche's Duroy Hotel.
