Assailants hoisting IS flag threaten worshipers at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Sydney
Media reports stated Thursday that four assailants driving a vehicle and waving the flag of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) drove past the Maronite Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Sydney, threatening the worshipers with murder and with slaughtering their children.

The incident caused panic among the citizens, while the Australian police took the necessary measures to protect the people, and launched investigations in order to reveal the identities of the assailants.

Also on Thursday, the Australian police arrested 15 people in the largest ever counter-terrorism raids, and foiled a plot by Islamic State jihadists to conduct "demonstration killings", reportedly including beheading a member of the public on camera.

The latest raids followed the arrests of two people last week in Brisbane who were charged with allegedly recruiting, funding and sending jihadist fighters to Syria.
