Kanaan to LBCI: Excluding FPM from Lebanese equation reflects regional settlements

Free Patriotic Movement MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed on Wednesday that Wednesday's protest will be "democratic and civilized and will aim to stand against oppression and marginalization."

Kanaan's comments were made during a phone call with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show whereby he lamented, “the attempt of exclusion practiced against the FPM since that means internal settlements are reflecting regional settlement in the making."

“All parties must take into consideration the dangers of the current situation,” he warned.

Kanaan indicated that, “taking to the streets is an outcry against excluding the Christians and the FPM from the Lebanese equation.”

“Whether they like it or not, we are the largest bloc representing Christian community and our purpose is to achieve real partnership.”

On Tuesday, FPM leader MP Michel Aoun called on his supporters to take to the streets today (Wednesday) to protest what he said was the government's marginalization of the Christian community's rights.

"Nothing will stop us from reaching our goals, and everyone is invited to demonstrate tomorrow," Aoun added.
