5 arrested in Ameriyeh, mines defused in Rmeich

Army Command – Directorate of Orientation reported on Saturday that, on Friday afternoon, a clash erupted between two Lebanese citizens in the Ameriyeh area in Central Bekaa due to family disputes. The clashes turned into an exchange of gunfire that caused the death of one person and the injury of 4 others.

The LAF intervened immediately and dispersed the crowds, bringing the situation back to normal.

The LAF raided as well the shooters’ homes and arrested 5 of them. The 4 cars that were used in the clashes were also seized along with a number of weapons and ammunitions.

The 5 arrested persons and the confiscated weapons were handed over to the competent authorities, while the investigation began under the supervision of the competent court.
