Spurts of Syria's violence reach Lebanese border
Two shells fired from the Syrian side of the border fell near an abandoned building for the General Security at the border crossing of al-Abboudiyeh in north Lebanon amid heavy gunfire. No casualties were reported.

This as the Syrian army opened heavy fire at al-Abboudiyeh using light and medium machineguns, damaging a number of houses and prompting residents to leave the town.

Sources said that the gunfire from the Syrian side may have resulted from the defection of a number of soldiers.

In contrast, the Lebanese army deployed heavily and organized patrols along the course of the Great River.

Exclusive sources told LBCI that Syria deployed military reinforcements in the area facing the town of al-Abboudiyeh in the north.
