Salameh from Tokyo: Lebanon's economy is immune
Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh said on Friday that Lebanon’s economy is distinctly immune against harsh repercussions due to the "credibility of the monetary policy management and wise banking methods," as well as the separation between the commercial and investment banks and the rational management of the public debt.

Salameh who presided the 67th IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meeting in Tokyo- Japan, added that the complicated monetary and economic situations the world is currently facing are influencing the Middle Eastern region which is going through difficult historical times.

“This makes us insist on learning from mutual experiences”, he affirmed.

In this context, Salameh met with the International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde and the World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. He also held meetings with several officials from both organizations.
