National Economic Committee meets with Trade Union Coordinating Body

The National Economic Committee held a hearing session for the Trade Union Coordinating Body regarding the series of ranks and salaries and related demands.

Deputy Nabil de Freij said that the Committee's main aim is manifested in not eroding the increase before the ratification of the series of ranks and salaries.

He also asked the government to provide funding sources for this series.

Within this framework, Head of the private school teachers association Nehme Mahfoud assured to LBCI that there are significant resources that the government can use to fund the series of ranks and salaries including real estate taxes.

Mahfoud said that escalatory measures will be taken if the series of ranks and salaries were not ratified and referred to parliament.

"We are still waiting and a meeting before the Cabinet session will be held with the PM Najib Mikati," he concluded.
