Member of the Economic and Social Council Rammal to LBCI: There has been no progress with the IMF
Member of the Economic and Social Council Adnan Rammal stressed on Saturday during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI that before there is any confusion regarding the customs dollar and its value, a comprehensive economic plan must be drawn up and implemented.

Rammal also indicated that if the state wishes to boost revenues, it should go to appropriating 8,000 LBP for the customs dollar as a maximum, explaining that “90 percent of the goods will be of fictitious value.”

He then said that “there has been no progress with the International Monetary Fund,” adding that there are no practical measures, and that we may have to wait until after the parliamentary elections and until the end of 2022 in order to start concrete measures.

“The IMF described the Lebanese file as the world's most complex,” Rammal pointed out.
