Kataeb party leader MP Sami Gemayel demanded on Sunday that those who made fake acts of heroism and drove the country to its current situation be held accountable.
 
He stressed importance of accountability, “from political accountability to judicial accountability for the explosion of Beirut Port and all the crimes that were committed, to financial accountability to recover every penny stolen from the pockets of the Lebanese and to hold accountable all those who squandered the people’s money.”
 
“We are against them and we will work to bring them down publicly and we are not ashamed of that,” he added.
 
“Because they stood in contrary to Lebanon’s interests and offered the country’s sovereignty of to an armed militia that they allied with, provided a cover for it and handed it over the Baabda Presidential Palace, the government and the parliament, and we want to take this legitimacy from them in order to return the state to its owners,” he explained.
