Caretaker Health Minister Firas Abiad received on Friday Global Director for Health Nutrition and Population at the World Bank and Director of the Global Financing Facility Juan Pablo Uribe, and Economist in Health Affairs at the World Bank in Lebanon Office Ronald Gomez Suarez.
During the meeting, they discussed the challenges facing the health sector in Lebanon at this stage, as well as the projects carried out by the Ministry of Health, most important of which the primary health care program.
They also tackled the possibility of cooperation between the Ministry and the World Bank in various projects, particularly the primary health care, maternal, and child health.
Abiad went on to explain how the remaining funds from the World Bank loan that had been allocated for fighting the Coronavirus would be invested to support and develop the network of primary health care centers, noting the importance of the role played by international organizations in supporting the governments.
